On Saturday May 12, at 8 a.m., students from the Marketing II Class at Webster Groves High School will host the 11th annual Jim Schoemehl 5k Run, to benefit the ALS Association and for financial support for a local family who has been affected by ALS.
Also known as Lou Gehrig's disease, ALS is a fatal degenerative disease that destroys the neurons that control voluntary movement in the body. There is currently no cure.
This year the Jim Schoemehl 5K Run will include the first Selma Sprint for children. The short distance sprint will offer two age divisions: 6 and under, and 7-9. For further information or to register, visit www.jims5krun.com.
