Veterans Day Parade & 5K Run Saturday, Nov. 11

The 2017 Veterans Day Downtown Parade and 5K Race will be held Saturday, Nov. 11. This family-friendly event will honor veterans and help end homelessness.
In addition to a timed 5K, there will be a one-mile fun run and walk, free kids' dash, parade, ceremony, food and drinks, bubble bus, photo booth, swag shop and much more.
The Veterans Day 5K and 1-mile fun run/walk begin at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 11, at Market Street and 13th Street. The Kids' Dash follows at 10 a.m., with an awards ceremony at 10:15 a.m.
Race Route: Start on Market at 13th, proceed west on Market, north on 18th, west on Locust, north on 22nd, east on Washington, north on 18th, east on Martin Luther King, south in the right lane of Tucker, west on Delmar, south on 16th, west on Washington, south on 18th, and east on Market to finish at 14th Street. Parade & Ceremony
Parade assembly begins at 9 a.m. on Olive between Tucker and Jefferson.
The Veterans Day Ceremony takes place on Market Street between 13th and 14th streets (Soldiers' Memorial) at 10:30 a.m., following the finish of the run. The parade begins at noon after the ceremony. Parade proceeds west on Market Street to Union Station at 20th Street.
Parking & Traffic Restrictions
Beginning Friday, Nov. 10, at noon, through Saturday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m., the following parking and traffic restrictions apply:
• Chestnut between Tucker, and 13th between Market and Pine will be closed.
On Saturday, Nov. 11, between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., Chestnut between 14th and 15th will be reserved for VIP parking and 14th between Pine and Market will be closed.
