Des Peres' Claychester Bridge over Two-Mile Creek in Harwood Hills is next on the list for replacement.
A contract for $102,000 with Juneau Associates Inc. for engineering services is under consideration by the Des Peres Board of Aldermen.
The $705,000 project is 80 percent reimbursable through a Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) Grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation.
The bridge is the sixth in an eight-bridge replacement program begun in the late 1990s. Construction will begin in 2014.
The first bridge was on Old Dougherty Ferry Road, followed by the Des Peres Road Bridge in front of Des Peres Hospital. Brookbend Bridge and Firethorn Bridge which cross Two Mile Creek in Harwood Hills were completed in 2010 and 2011 respectively. The Highland Avenue Bridge is now under construction.
The remaining bridges are Fawn Valley Drive Bridge over Two Mile Creek, and Oak Drive Bridge at the north end of town.
